TEEN INTERNSHIPS

Why would your teen get an ordinary job , when they could start taking on their future!  CAREERS connects students in grades 10-12, and youth 18–20 years old, to local employers for paid internships.  Your child could earn money, high school credits, and get hands-on experience in some of Alberta’s most in-demand industries.

Action on Prompt Payment

A survey by the Alberta Trade Contractors Coalition titled “Evidence-based impacts of Slow Payment Practices in Alberta’s Construction Industry” concluded that Alberta’s construction trade contractors currently wait on payment for completed work an average of 78 days. On any given construction project, trade contractors carry 90% of the total labour and material cost needed for project completion, not including land and services. See below for advice on new legislation effective August 2022 intended to reduce that burden.
